Daniel A. Huard, LEED Fellow, WELL Faculty, PMP, CPMP, GGA, GPCP, LFA, WELL AP, LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP O+M “The Godfather of Sustainability” the globally recognized Build for Impact Expert has been active in Green Building for over 30 years, with an ongoing commitments to mentoring, service and leadership contributing to USGBC as a USGBC Board Appointed Executive Committee Chairperson of the 2024 LEED Fellow Evaluation Committee, USGBC Board Appointed Executive Committee Vice Chairperson of the 2023 LEED Fellow Evaluation Committee, member of the LEED Fellows Selection Committee(s) since 2018.
Huard has further committed to the LEED Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group since 2021. Been a past USGBC Board appointed LEED Advisory Committee since 2020, past USGBC’s LEED Technical Committee, USGBC Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group (and Committee Chair for maximum term limits). Huard was elected USGBC Western Regional Council Chairperson, USGBC Nevada President, and served as USGBC Emerging Professionals Committee Western Region Chair.
Further commitments include National Fenestration Rating Council Board of Directors member for 7 years with service as Board Vice Chair for 3 years and Governance Committee Chair for 5 years; IWBI WELL Faculty member since 2018. Ongoing professional involvement with ASHRAE and Association of Energy Engineers. As a global thought leader Huard founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative serving as Nevada’s ILFI Ambassador from 2011. Daniel as well currently serves the U.S. DOE contributing to their Building Envelope Tech Team and has served as Technical Subject Matter Expert to the US Department of the Interior since 2009.
As a former League of Indian Nations of North America Ambassador to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Daniel focused on international sustainability programs, social and educational programs and native rights recognition and advocacy.

A lifelong learning proponent, Daniel has long been a sought‐after Green Building Expert, Keynote Speaker, Leader, Educator and Management Consultant. Daniel received degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Masters of Architecture and Masters of Urban Planning, beyond professional degrees Daniel’s professional accreditations include: LEED Fellow with LEED AP O+M and LEED AP BD+C credential specialties from GBCI, PMP from Project Management Institute, LFA from International Living Future Institute, GGA, GGP and GPCP from GBI, WELL AP from IWBI, and ASHRAE CPMP Commissioning Process Management Professional.
Daniel’s professional expertise has contributed to numerous domestic and international High Performance Building, Sustainable and Restorative Development projects. Huard’s commitment to Keynotes at international events includes Greenbuild, WaterBuild, Living Future unConference, WaterSmart Innovations, Advanced Energy Conference, Energy Management Congress, CAPAC, MiaGreen, The Energy Expo, The Water Expo and Global Gaming Expo to name a few.
The Sky’s the Limit
You have likely heard the expression the sky’s the limit yet Daniel Huard did not stop there, that’s right Huard worked on NASA Space Shuttle projects in the past and continues to stay active and credentialed in the fields integrating solutions for the latest in building technologies.
Huard adds “In candor I have never been a complacent person, I belong to the Earth, the Earth does not belong to the Human Race, EVERYTHING ON THE EARTH IS ALIVE, No Person is more important than NATURE!”. This statement is shared in Keynotes providing a motto for the way Huard Lives Life. Huard goes on to share “I take on challenges and work to make the impossible plausible, and then possible”. Mahatma Gandhi shared “You must be the CHANGE you wish to see in the WORLD” which is why Huard continues Providing Innovative and Practical Solutions since 1984.
